Smoke and Mirrors? No Way!

No, no smoke and mirrors,  no cookie cutter approach to how we do things, no gold or silver bullet, no 'polyrazzmatazz' for sale, just proven, contemporary techniques and strategies that work. There is no up front investment in any software package. We don't believe in that.

We do not believe you can purchase and implement someone else's idea of "Best Practices".  Buying and implementing 'one system to do it all' was never a good idea. It has always been a risky investment, coupled to a long, arduous, perilous and costly implementation.

Ironically, if you are successful, if you survive the implementation, chances are you will have a rock solid technology platform, a foundation on which to build and manage your business. The irony is that with technology changing as rapidly as it is, and  global competition nipping and nibbling at market share, agility is more prized then stability.

"Change" must be a core competency. A purchased system, running proprietary software, software that requires the intervention of consultants to deal with inevitable changes in process and technology will ultimately fail.

We don't take that approach. We work with your team to identify and prioritize process innovation / improvement opportunities. Some are simple, some may not require any technology at all. Our first objective is to understand our client's requirement. Not just today's task at hand, but a picture of a desired outcome over an extended period of time. This ensures that today's solution will not become tomorrows problem, and this is where we differentiate ourselves from most technology services.

We look for proven, Open Source solutions that will fit, or may be adapted to fit, the immediate requirement.  During the entire process, we work with / through the client's team to ensure that everyone is on the same page as we move forward. When the implementation is complete there is an intimate understanding of 'how things are done', in terms of process, people and programs.

This is an incremental approach to building a system. Here is a quick rundown of the benefits :

1 - As process improvements are implemented the time and dollars saved may be used to fund additional improvement

2 - Given that employees will be intimately involved in crafting solutions they will ultimately possess the knowledge to recognize new opportunity and drive change

3 - The software belongs to you. You may change it as needed at minimal expense, often, in house.

4 - There is no risk associated with a large software / implementation investment and consequently no new licensing and support fees to absorb

We create and manage our projects using :

"Process Pinatas" a means by which we can model and document a system change proposal then, in a group, knock it around and see if anything good falls out.

A Project Management technique that is easy to understand and follow. This technique keeps everyone informed in terms of resource schedule, status, Estimated Time to Completion (ETC)

'Process Objects', a methodology that provides process visibility of both the before and after state. The Process Object is especially important as a process is not actually visible. There are different perspectives on how things get done. There needs to be a shared perspective, an explicit depiction of "what is" before collaborating on "what will be".
